Hodler Monet Munch

"Why bring together Ferdinand Hodler, Claude Monet and Edvard Munch in an exhibition? Because they’re essential European modernist painters. Because their works take us through the 20th century and have had a profound influence on the history of art. And, most importantly, because all three continually confronted seemingly insurmountable questions about art at the risk of being misunderstood." (Musée Marmottan-Monet)

"To celebrate its 30th anniversary in autumn 2016, the Musée d’Orsay is looking at the entertainments and festivities of the Second Empire and at the different "stages" on which our modernity was invented. The exhibition’s thematic lay-out, with paintings, sculptures, photographs, architectural drawings, objets d’art and jewellery side by side, creates a portrait of this prolific and brilliant era, so rich in contradictions." The Shchukin Collection
October 22nd 2016 to February 20th 2017

"As part of the official programme of the France-Russia year of cultural tourism 2016-17, the exhibition pays tribute to one of the greatest art patrons of the early 20th century, Sergei Shchukin, the visionary Russian collector of French modern art.

As Anne Baldassari, curator of the exhibition, states, his collection "remains little know to the general western public even today. In fact, since it was broken up in 1948 it has never been gathered as a singular and coherent artistic entity." " (Fondation Louis Vuitton)

Swan Lake

"Drawing on ancient Slavic and Norse mythology where destiny is often born out of the mysterious forces of nature, Swan Lake has become a legend in its own right. Tchaikovsky’s first ballet score is imbued with a deep sense of nostalgia, echoing the composer’s own experience of love as elusive as it was impossible." (Opéra de Paris)
